So, in case you don't know where King's Orchard is located, we are in Wenatchee, WA, which is in the center of Washington State. We happen to live in the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains, so our area is considered semi-arid; in other words, we only get about 8 inches of precipitation per year. However, if you happened to come to the valley right now, TODAY, you would never guess that. The hills that surround us are this lovely shade of velvety green; we actually had rain last night and this morning (even a little snow on a few of the higher hills!). On my drive into work I was listening to an amazing rendition of JS Bach's "Little Fugue" and there were misty clouds swirling around the hills making it look like we'd been transported to Ireland. I just kept praising God for His abundant kindness and glory. Just before I left for work I read from Psalm 87:
His foundation is in the holy mountains. The Lord loves the gates of Zion More than all the other dwelling places of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. Selah. “I shall mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me; Behold, Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia: ‘This one was born there.’” But of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; And the Most High Himself will establish her. The Lord will count when He registers the peoples, “This one was born there.” Selah. Then those who sing as well as those who play the flutes shall say, “All my springs of joy are in you.” (from the New American Standard Bible) "His foundation is in the holy mountains." "All my springs of joy are in You." Wow! How very appropriate to this day in this wonderful area of the world which God created!! May your day be blessed where ever you are.
