King's Orchard just participated in EEM's Million Dollar Sunday, September 27, 2015. Our congregation is so very generous - we raised over $3,500 to help buy Bibles for students in public schools in Ukraine, Romania & Croatia; that will help send Bibles to over 3 schools. Thank you EVERYONE who donated - you rock! Would you like to donate? You can still help in this endeavor; this is a fantastic opportunity to spread God's Word to those who thirst. You have all heard and read about the many natural disasters that have happened/are happening this summer (and right now) here in the United States. You may want to help, but are uncertain what you can do. One place that is TREMENDOUS help throughout the USA is Churches of Christ Disaster Relief, Inc. The send out semi-trailers full of help to communities all over the USA - communities devastated by floods, fires, tornados, hurricanes. . . . When you donate money to them they are able to use $1 to buy 3-4 times the amount of goods that YOU would be able to buy. AND they only have 15 staff (office, warehouse crew, 5 men who travel across the country representing CCDRE). To read more about them and to donate money or services click on this link: http://disasterreliefeffort.org/
As always, lift up in prayer all those effected by fires (WA, OR, ID, CA) and floods (AR, MO, TX, NE ...); they have a long row to hoe to get back to "normal". From a posting on Facebook by the Christian Chronicle:
From Partners in Progress: EUROPEAN REFUGEES: We are officially beginning to respond to the cries for help from European brethren who are reaching out to refugees. In Vienna they are already working with refugees and...a message just now said they are beginning to cook for many who are forced to live in tents outside and any don't have tents. They are also receiving Bibles from EEM and distributing them among the refugees as well as tracts. We will immediately borrow $10,000 which they requested, and will ask many of you to help us raise that plus much more if possible. You can send funds to Partners In Progress, European Refugee Relief, P.O. Box 13989, Maumelle, AR 72113, USA and or use our pay Pal account on our website www.partnersinprogress.org. The need in Austria and Germany is urgent. The Austrian Gov't is saying they cannot provide all the needed relief and they are calling on humanitarian organizations to assist. This is a golden opportunity to show the love of God to desperate people. Calendar for September 13-20
